ABOUT
I’m a life-long lover of words, and my earliest memories are of my grandpa reading Alice in Wonderland over the phone while I was sick in bed. It wasn’t a huge leap to discover that I didn’t have to wait for someone to read me a story – I could make one up for myself. (And that tells you pretty much everything you need to know about me.)
When, at aged 10, I won second place in the Jellybean Journal’s poetry competition and saw my words in print, I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to be a writer.
But first I had to procrastinate. (In the profession, we call this research.)

I sampled places to live as if the world was my selection box (from Cape Town, to the UK, to multiple places around Australia, and, finally, the Sunshine Coast).

I sampled jobs. Everything from wine bottle sulpherer (it’s a thing), to journo – with plenty of onion tears in between.
Research. Not flighty.

And then there were the relationships.
Definitely all research. (It’s probably for the best if we don’t list them.)

My consistent companion through all the change was my trusty notebook and the stories that danced in my head. Until one day in 2023 I decided I was tired of circumnavigating my dream. I joined Romance Writers of Australia, signed up for Josephine Moon’s Write your Novel this Year course and – most importantly – sat myself down and wrote all the way to The End.
